Greg Rowland Alzheimer's Advocate

Hello, my name is Greg Rowland.

I inherited the entrepreneurial spirit from my father and at the age of 12, I joined a 4-H program raising chickens. I started a company called Greg’s Eggs. For about two years, I sold fresh eggs to schoolteachers, neighbors, and family.

Over the next 45 years, I owned and managed several businesses ranging from corporate television production to construction. Mixed into my small business ventures was an online store and a corporate event management company.

I am a strong believer in supporting the community. Throughout my life, I have been actively involved in a variety of organizations. This included serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Urban Ministries in Durham, North Carolina.

My business ventures afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively, both internationally and domestically. Experiencing different cultures has been a highlight of my life.

In August 2025, I was diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease. I am fortunate to be treated at Duke Health, part of Duke University, where I receive an infusion of Lecanemab every two weeks for a period of at least18 months. This drug is designed to slow the progression of my Alzheimer’s disease.

My wife and I closed our construction company in South Carolina and moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to be near Duke Health. The loss of income from the business and the additional living expenses have created financial hardship. We hope to sell our South Carolina home by the summer of 2026.

I write a Substack blog about my Alzheimer’s journey. The subscribers to the blog are Alzheimer’s patients, caregivers, neurologists, researchers, friends, and family. Greg’s AZ Store is my latest business venture. The profits help to cover my medical treatment expenses, transportation, and living expenses.

If you prefer to donate directly, I have a GoFundMe campaign. Every dollar makes a big difference. Thank you
